It weird that just after first row, I cannot type Vietnamese.
I am using latest Word version on IOS 26.6.1, Iphone 17

The screenshot shows that Word is leaving the Vietnamese Telex input as raw letters in later table rows instead of converting it to accented characters. This appears to be a Word for iOS table-input issue, as the same behavior has previously occurred even after changing keyboards or reinstalling the app.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Open Apple Notes and confirm that the Vietnamese keyboard works there. If it does, the keyboard itself is fine and the problem is limited to Word.

Temporarily type the Vietnamese text in Notes, then copy and paste it into the affected table cell. You can also edit the document in Word for the web or Word on a computer until the mobile issue is fixed.

In Word, select the three-dot menu, open Help & Feedback, then choose Tell Us What Can Be Better. Include the screenshot, iPhone model, iOS version, Word version, and mention that Vietnamese input stops converting after the first table row. This sends the report to the Word for iOS team.

Scope of the issue: The Vietnamese Telex input works completely fine in the native Apple Notes app. I also tested it in Microsoft Excel for iOS, and it functions normally without any input problems. Therefore, the issue appears to be strictly isolated to tables in Word for iOS.

New observation: I noticed a very specific pattern: if I leave the first row completely blank, I can type Vietnamese with full Telex conversion in the subsequent row without any issues. However, the moment I enter any text into the first row, all subsequent rows fail to convert Telex input into accented characters.

Feedback submission limitation: I followed your instructions to submit a report via Help & Feedback > Tell Us What Can Be Better. However, the feedback tool does not allow me to upload custom screenshots or attachments from my photo library—it only automatically captures the current screen of the app.

Please pass this detailed behavior along to the Word for iOS engineering team so they can reproduce and patch this bug in an upcoming update.

Create a new Word document and insert a table with at least two rows.

In the second row, use Vietnamese Telex and show that the letters remain unconverted.

Remove the first-row text and confirm that Telex works again below it.
