  1. Download halo
  2. Open
  3. Go to page with QR code
  4. Scan QR code with cell phone
  5. No verifcation code comes to allow access

This did work the very first time I tried it, but then it would not let me click to accept the T&C on the PS5 so I eventually went back. Now I'm stuck not receiving the auth codes.

    Hi, Rory Groom

Since the verification email worked initially, this may be a stale or incomplete Halo linking session rather than a mailbox problem. The QR code and its access code expire after 15 minutes.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Fully close Halo on the PS5, restart the console, and open the game again so it generates a new linking code.

Instead of scanning the QR code, open Microsoft’s device-linking page manually on a phone or computer. Sign in and enter the fresh 8-character code displayed on the PS5, then select Allow access.

Before doing this, clear the browser’s cookies and cached data, or use a different browser or device. A damaged or stale browser session can prevent the authorization page from completing correctly.

Confirm that the Microsoft account already has an Xbox gamertag. Halo requires an associated Xbox profile before linking can finish.

If the new code still fails or the Terms and Conditions screen remains unresponsive, submit a ticket through Halo Support with a screenshot and the approximate time of the attempt.

This is usually caused by a temporary verification block, the code going to the wrong verification address, mailbox filtering, or a sign-in/session conflict.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Stop requesting new codes repeatedly Excessive or repetitive requests can trigger a temporary block where Microsoft will not send codes.
    2. Check the correct mailbox Verification codes sent by email can only be sent to the primary alias or another email added as a sign-in verification method.
    3. Check Junk/Spam and trust the sender Valid verification emails come from @accountprotection.microsoft.com. Check junk folders and mark that sender as trusted.
    4. If the verification email is another Microsoft address such as @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com, use privacy/InPrivate mode:
      • In one private window, stay signed in to the account that is requesting the code.
      • Open a second private window.
      • Sign in to the alternate Microsoft email account there.
      • Copy the code from that mailbox back to the first window. This avoids the browser signing out one account while accessing the other.
    5. Try another verification method If another method is available on the account, use it instead of email.
    6. Try another network Switch between Wi‑Fi and cellular data, or use a different Wi‑Fi network.
    7. Wait before trying again If the account or verification flow was flagged for unusual activity, waiting can clear the block. Guidance is to wait a day, and if needed longer, up to 1 week. Repeated attempts can reset the time lock.
    8. Verify or replace security info if accessible On the Security basics page, select Update info, then choose a method that works, or choose I don't have any of these to replace the security info.
    9. Use Microsoft sign-in troubleshooting if still blocked If sign-in still fails, use the Microsoft sign-in helper.

    Important limits:

    • Microsoft support agents cannot send verification codes or change account details.
    • If the issue is a temporary security block, the code may not arrive until the block clears.
