A program that grants points for using Bing search, which users can redeem for gift cards, sweepstakes entries, or charitable donations.
For Microsoft Rewards redemption, the QR code verification option only appears when all of these are true:
- A reward is being redeemed and account verification is required.
- A web browser is being used on a PC or mobile device.
- The reward is not set up for Auto-redeem.
The QR code option does not appear when redeeming inside the Bing app. That matches the behavior described: the app can open, but the verification flow must start from the Rewards website in a browser, then use the app to scan the QR code.
Use this flow:
- Sign in to the Microsoft Rewards website at rewards.microsoft.com and choose the reward.
- When prompted to verify the account, select Verify with the Bing app.
- Scan the QR code shown on the Rewards site with the mobile device.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code and select Verify.
- Return to the original redemption screen to complete redemption.
If that still fails, try these supported troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure the browser and operating system are up to date.
- Clear browser cache and cookies.
- Turn off any VPN, proxy, or third-party security software temporarily.
- Try a different browser, device, or network.
- Make sure the same Microsoft account is signed in on the Rewards site and in the Bing app.
If phone or verification methods are being blocked, Microsoft also lists these possible causes:
- unusual activity on the account
- too many repeated verification requests
- traffic issues from the current location or network
In that case, try another network and avoid repeated attempts. Waiting 24 hours can help, and in some cases Microsoft says it may take longer, up to 1 week.
If QR verification continues to fail after those steps, contact Microsoft Rewards Support through the official support form.
