After the last Microsoft supposed security update to Windows 11 which can not be uninstalled, I can not preview any of my Word, Pdf., Excel etc files in the preview pane for windows explorer. My jpeg files are about the only ones that sow in the preview pane. All of these files were generated on my home computer which is not part of any type of company network. My Office product is MINE. bought and paid for, not the rented 365. So Microsoft should not have the legal right to make changes of any kind to it. Every suggestion I have googled either does not work or requires going into every single file, which would be hundreds of files. Is there a fix that does not require opening every single files?
I understand it can take a second for the preview pane. First, I never use Edge. Secondly I have hundreds of files that have been affected, so I want a fix that does not require every file to be opened. The only update I could not uninstall when this happened is the "Security update for Microsoft Windows (KB5121003)". So it is the supect.

Are you referring to this security update?
If this is the case, then then "Unblocking" the file will fix the issue.
Be also aware, that generating preview my take some time. The process is not instant.
Keep trying to leave comment that this is not the problem and I do not use Edge, ever But each time I try to submit the whirly bird goes round for hours and never submits. We will see if it works
Just to avoid any confusion. The example shown in my post has nothing to do with using or not using Edge. The .pdf files are on my computer associated with Edge browser and therefore Edge is shown in this screenshot. I just could not find any Word or Excel files which were downloaded from Internet and had this warning in the Properties page.
In my case, I can preview any Word or Excel file except some very old .doc files which were probably created in a very old version of Word. In this case I'm seeing this error message in the preview pane.
What error message is shown in the preview pane for the files which you cannot preview?
