AZ-400 is an exam, not a standalone certificate. The Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert certification appears only after both of these are true:
- AZ-400 is passed
- An active prerequisite certification is already held:
- Azure Administrator Associate or
- Azure Developer Associate
If the prerequisite certification is not active on the profile, the DevOps Engineer Expert certificate will not appear in the Certification Dashboard.
To check:
- Open the Learn profile / Certification Dashboard.
- Verify whether an active prerequisite certification is listed.
- If the prerequisite is present and the certification still does not appear, first confirm the correct Learn profile is being used. Missing credentials can happen when signing in with a different account than the one used for exam registration.
- If the profile is correct and the credential is still missing, contact Microsoft Credentials Support for assistance with missing credentials.
Also note:
- If a certification requires two or more exams, the certificate is not issued until the final requirement is completed.
- The certification name is Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert. AZ-400 is the required exam for that certification.
