Is this problem affecting all video files, or just one specific video file?

    2

If you are using the new Media Player app to play the video file, open the Settings App.

Go to Apps - Installed Apps.

Scroll down to find the Media Player app.

Select that app and choose Advanced Options.

Perform the Repair option and the Reset option on that app.

Then check if you can play the video file.

    3

If that does not resolve the problem, right click the video file in File Explorer and select Properties.

Please provide a screenshot of the resulting Properties dialog box.

    Hi Ed van der Zande,

Thank you for reaching out. Error 102006 is not a Windows-specific error code and can sometimes be related to how the video is being delivered or rendered rather than the video itself.

As an additional troubleshooting step, please try the following:

    1. Open the video in a different browser (such as Edge, Chrome, or Firefox).
    2. Try viewing the video in an InPrivate/Incognito window.
    3. Temporarily disable any ad-blocking or privacy extensions and test again.
    4. Clear the browser cache and reload the page.
    5. If you're using a VPN or proxy connection, disconnect it temporarily and test playback.

If the issue only occurs on a specific website, the video service may have a compatibility or playback issue that the site owner would need to investigate. If it occurs across multiple websites, please let us know:

    • Which browser you are using
    • Whether the issue affects all videos or only a specific site
    • Whether the same video plays correctly on another device

This information can help narrow down the cause and identify the most appropriate next steps. We look forward to your update and hope you're able to get the videos playing normally again.
