Dear, Microsoft Support Team.

I would like to request a review of my Microsoft Rewards account because I am experiencing an issue with redeeming my reward points.

I can use Microsoft Rewards normally to earn points, but I am unable to redeem Amazon or Walmart gift cards. When I try to access these items in the rewards catalog, I receive the following message:

"On the go? You're previewing a catalog item that you're not eligible to redeem due to region or other restrictions."

The catalog shows other redemption options I can redeem but Amazon and Walmart gift cards remain unavailable.

  • I currently live in the United States of America.
  • My Microsoft account region is set to the United States of America.
  • The account was originally created in the United States of America.
  • I was able to redeem my points for Amazon gift cards in the past.
  • I would like to know why there are regional restriction applied to my account?
  • I have not moved regions.
  • Is there any setting or procedure that can make these redemptions available?

I would appreciate your assistance in reviewing my account and explaining the reason for this limitation.

Thank you

That message is typically associated with region or policy checks on Microsoft Rewards redemptions. Based on the documented causes, the most common reasons are:

    1. A VPN or proxy is being used, which can conceal the true location.
    2. Redemption is being attempted from outside the country/region where the Microsoft account and Rewards market are set.
    3. The account has activity that looks like earning or redeeming across multiple regions/markets.
    4. A phone verification or account-policy issue is affecting redemption eligibility.

For this scenario, the supported steps are:

    1. Make sure no VPN or proxy is enabled.
    2. Sign out of Microsoft Rewards, then sign back in.
    3. Try the Rewards dashboard from a different browser.
    4. Clear browser cache, or try InPrivate/Incognito mode.
    5. Try a different device, or try the Bing app.
    6. Verify that redemption is being attempted only from the United States and not while traveling.
    7. If phone verification appears during redemption, use a mobile phone or landline number. VoIP numbers are not permitted.

If those checks do not resolve it, the next step is to submit a request to Microsoft Rewards Support so the account can be reviewed: Contact us

Relevant policy points documented for Microsoft Rewards include:

    • Redeeming from outside the country where points were earned can block redemption.
    • Using a service that alters the true IP address of the location can affect account standing.
    • Trying to earn points from more than one country the same day can trigger restrictions.
    • Microsoft states that rewards offered can vary by account, region, and market.

    Hello,

This error usually appears when the Microsoft Rewards server detects that your IP address is from a different country or region than the one where you are located.

However, that does not seem to be the case here, as several other users have reported the same issue, especially with Amazon and Walmart gift cards. This may have happened after the latest Bing Rewards UI changes, where an Amazon gift card from a different region may now be visible on your account and could be preventing you from redeeming it. So, I recommend contacting the Microsoft Bing Rewards support team directly using the link below.

Meanwhile, I recommend using the Bing app on your smartphone to redeem the Amazon or Walmart gift card instead of the website.

See if you can redeem your rewards through the app.
