today was my first day of the new copilot experience. 6 interactions in and i've reached my limit. the answers it now give are vague, it's lost its personal touch. if copilot was a human, it was like talking to a different person. i didn't find it useful like it used to be and now i can't talk to it at all. it's effectively useless. i guess that's the end of using copilot.

2 days ago it stopped answering. I did a refresh. New interface, spent a few hours finding old conversations and listing them, then in short order you have reached your limit, try back at 8 pm or tomorrow.

Today I got more interaction but just hit my limit.
    Looks like the new paradigm.

Thanks everyone for continuing to add your results to this thread.

At this point, based on the number of users reporting the same behavior, I don't think it is useful to keep treating this as an isolated browser, cache, or device problem.

The common pattern reported here is now fairly consistent:

    • Copilot changed to the newer experience/UI.
    • Users who previously did not encounter this restriction are now seeing “You've reached your daily chat limit.”
    • In several cases the limit appears after only a very small number of prompts, and sometimes almost immediately.
    • Reinstalling the app, clearing browser data, using private browsing, signing out/in, or changing browsers has not consistently resolved it.
    • Some users see different behavior depending on whether they use the mobile app, web experience, or another Copilot entry point.

Microsoft has confirmed that the current free Copilot experience is subject to usage/capacity limits, and paid plans provide higher limits. However, Microsoft does not publish a guaranteed fixed number of daily chats for the free experience.

That means two things can both be true:

    1. A daily usage limit is an expected part of the current Copilot service.
    2. Reaching that limit after only a handful of simple prompts may still indicate an account/service-side issue.

There are now other recent Microsoft Q&A reports showing the same behavior after the September Copilot changes, including users being limited after approximately 2–5 prompts.

A Microsoft moderator has also advised users with persistent cross-device behavior to continue the case with Microsoft Support, because an account-level investigation is more appropriate than additional local troubleshooting.

So, for anyone still affected, I would recommend:

    • Do not keep reinstalling Copilot or deleting chats/projects.
    • Confirm that the same Microsoft account is being used on each device.
    • Note approximately how many prompts are accepted before the limit appears.
    • Record whether the behavior differs between web, mobile, and other Copilot surfaces.
    • Submit or update a Microsoft Support case and include those results.

When contacting support, I would describe the issue specifically as:

“Daily chat limit is being triggered after only a few prompts across multiple sessions/devices following the recent Copilot experience update.”

That is more useful than simply reporting that you have reached the normal daily limit.

Also, theories involving corrupted security tokens or a broken quota counter are still hypotheses unless Microsoft confirms them. The strongest evidence we currently have is the reproducible cross-device behavior and the growing number of similar reports.

If Microsoft provides an official explanation, incident reference, or fix, please add it to this thread so everyone following the issue has a single place to track the outcome.

If this summary was helpful, please consider marking it as helpful or accepting it as the answer so other affected users can find the current status quickly.

I tried to use copilot today and got a message unable to answer your response at this time.

I checked online to look for solutions and was told to reinstall. I did so and once synced my previous chats reappeared, but after a few questions I got the message for the first time- you've reached your daily limit. I thought it was because I'd uploaded a newer version which looks different. But after reading several chats here, clearly not. What's annoying is that you start a chat, ask copilot something and it starts to drift, meaning you have to paste again an early answer. So you'll reach your daily limit very quickly all down to copilot's performance. Call me cynical but it makes you wonder if you're being forced into upgrading
