Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on iOS
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Hello everyone,
I would like to report a persistent scrolling issue on Microsoft Edge for iOS and see if anyone else is experiencing the same behavior or knows a potential fix.
When scrolling through web pages in Edge, there are noticeable micro-stutters and frame drops. By comparison, Safari remains completely smooth and fluid when loading the exact same websites.
To confirm whether this was an isolated bug or related to beta software, I tested and reproduced the issue across two separate devices:
Primary Device: iPhone 17 Pro Max (running iOS 27 Public Beta 6)
Secondary Device: iPhone 15 Pro Max (running iOS 26.6.1)
The stuttering happens consistently on both devices inside Microsoft Edge, while Safari has no frame pacing issues whatsoever. Clearing the cache and browsing data did not resolve it.
Screen Recording:
Since videos cannot be attached directly, I uploaded a screen recording showing the stutter here:

Is this a known issue with the UI layer/WebKit wrapper on newer iOS builds, and is a fix currently being worked on?
Any insights or updates from the Edge development team would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on iOS
Hi Adrian
Thank you for the detailed report and for providing reproduction steps across multiple devices.
Based on your testing, the fact that the issue occurs on both an iPhone 17 Pro Max (iOS 27 Public Beta 6) and an iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 26.6.1), while Safari remains smooth on the same sites, does suggest the problem is specific to the Microsoft Edge iOS implementation rather than the websites themselves. There are known cases where Edge on iOS exhibits behavior that differs from Safari despite both being based on Apple's WebKit engine.
As community members, we do not have visibility into the Edge team's active bug backlog or release schedule, so we cannot confirm whether this specific scrolling issue is already being tracked or when a fix might be available.
I recommend using Edge > Settings > Help and Feedback > Send Feedback and attaching the screen recording, device models, iOS versions, and Edge version number. Detailed reports like yours are the best way to get the issue directly in front of the Edge iOS engineering team. The fact that you have reproduced it on multiple devices and OS versions should be particularly helpful for investigation.
Hopefully others experiencing the same behavior can also share their Edge version and device details to help determine how widespread the issue is.
I am experiencing the same issue after updating the app today.
