    Welcome James Slater,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand your new PC repeatedly displays a CLiP License Device ID mismatch after you purchased Windows 11 Home from the Microsoft Store.

Before proceeding, could you please confirm:

    • What activation status and error code appear under Settings > System > Activation? Does the CLiP error appear during Windows activation, or only when you open a Microsoft Store app?

In addition to the previous suggestions, you could also explore these options:

1, Confirm the installed edition under Settings > System > Activation is Windows 11 Home.

    2, Run the Activation troubleshooter.

    • Open Settings > System > Activation
    • Select Troubleshoot
    • If a valid Windows 11 Home digital license is found, select Activate

3, Install all available updates under Settings > Windows Update, restart the PC, and check activation again.

    Hi,

The following should work, if your Windows is activated. If it does not activate let me know.

    1. Open Microsoft Store and select your profile icon in the top-right corner.
    2. Select Manage accounts and devices. This will open the Microsoft account webpage in your browser. Sign in if prompted.
    3. Locate your PC in the device list, select it, and choose Remove this device in the top-right corner.
    4. On your Windows PC, go to Settings > Accounts > Your info.
    5. Select Sign in with a local account instead and follow the on-screen instructions to create and set up a local account.
    6. Windows will sign you out once the process is complete. Sign back in using the newly created local account.

I look forward to hearing from you to get the results of the troubleshooting.
