An Azure platform as a service offer that is used to deploy web and cloud applications.
If Azure says "You are not eligible for an Azure subscription" for both Free Trial and Pay-as-you-go, check these items first:
- Verify the Azure profile details are correct:
- country/region
- name
- contact email
- street address
- phone number
- Verify the card details are correct:
- name, address, and CVV must match the card exactly
- the billing address must be in the same country/region selected during sign-up
- prepaid and virtual cards aren’t accepted
- Make sure the same personal details haven’t already been used with another Microsoft account. Azure free trial is limited to users who are new to Azure.
- If the card verification page hangs, allow third-party cookies in the browser, refresh the sign-up page, and if needed restart the browser or try a different browser.
- If the card is declined, contact the bank or card issuer to confirm:
- the card is active
- international transactions are enabled
- the card type is supported in the selected country/region
- If the account shows "Your current account type is not supported" or "Account belongs to a directory that cannot be associated with an Azure subscription", the account might already exist in an unmanaged Microsoft Entra directory. In that case, sign up with a different account or complete the unmanaged directory takeover process.
- If all details are correct and the error still appears, contact Azure support for account creation assistance.
A small temporary verification hold can appear on the card after sign-up attempts. The hold is typically removed within three to five days.
