Hi Team,
I have recently completed a few modules of MS AI-900 learning via a third-party learning site.
I found out that the exam had been retired, and AI-901 is the replacement exam.
Wanted to know if the basics, demonstrative agent lessons of AI-900 learning will help me in AI-901.

Yes. AI-900 learning can still help with AI-901, but only partially.
AI-901 keeps the same Azure AI Fundamentals certification and still expects foundational knowledge of AI concepts and Azure AI workloads. That means AI-900 basics such as:
remain relevant for AI-901.
The main difference is that AI-901 has been updated significantly to focus on Microsoft Foundry and lightweight application scenarios rather than the older emphasis on individual AI services. The updated AI-901 skills include:
For the demonstrative agent lessons specifically: they will help if they build general understanding of agent concepts, prompts, and AI application patterns. However, AI-901 explicitly measures agent and app-building tasks in Microsoft Foundry, so AI-900 material alone is not enough preparation.
A practical approach is:
Also note that AI-900 was retired on June 30, 2026, and AI-901 is the replacement exam.
