Yes. AI-900 learning can still help with AI-901, but only partially.

AI-901 keeps the same Azure AI Fundamentals certification and still expects foundational knowledge of AI concepts and Azure AI workloads. That means AI-900 basics such as:

• text, speech, and vision fundamentals

remain relevant for AI-901.

The main difference is that AI-901 has been updated significantly to focus on Microsoft Foundry and lightweight application scenarios rather than the older emphasis on individual AI services. The updated AI-901 skills include:

• creating effective system and user prompts
• deploying and interacting with models in the Foundry portal
• creating lightweight chat client applications with the Foundry SDK
