After getting client to setup the onedrive folder to accept external guests and having my email allowed in the list of members in his onedrive, i use the SYNC button from the onedrive folder website and a window pops up and asks me to sign in, after I input my credentials, this error shows up before finishing the loading screen. How do I fix this?

    Hi @Francis de Vera

Could you please let me know whether you are able to sign in and access the shared folder through the web browser without any issues?

In the meantime, you can try these steps below to see if they can help resolve your issue:

1.Clear the local Microsoft authentication cache

    Please completely close OneDrive first.

Before making any changes, back up the following folders to another location:

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneAuth
    %localappdata%\Microsoft\IdentityCache

After creating the backup, delete the original OneAuth and IdentityCache folders.

Then restart the PC, open OneDrive again, and try signing in.

    1. Reset the Office identity cache in the registry

    -Press Windows + R.

    -Type regedit and select OK.

    Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help resolve some issues; however, serious issues might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if an issue occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, please refer to How to back up and restore the registry in Windows | Microsoft Support

3.test with another Windows user profile

Please create a temporary Windows user account and try signing in to OneDrive from that profile.

If OneDrive works normally under the new profile, this would indicate that the issue is specific to the original Windows user profile.

For your reference: Manage User Accounts in Windows | Microsoft Support

If the issue continues after completing the steps above, I would recommend contacting your IT administrator to help investigate further and, if necessary, open a support ticket with Microsoft Support for further assistance.

For instructions on how to create a support request, please refer to Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

    I hope this helps.
