Cannot log in to Xbox website on browser on any device

The issue first arose when I tried to sign in on Minecraft on my PS5 with my Microsoft account which was previously signed in. It had seemingly signed out after an update. Pressing “sign in to Microsoft account” would just continuously load and not even bring me to the sign in screen. I fixed that issue and was then able to get to the part where I could scan a QR code and log in with my phone. Once I had logged in with my phone the screen would just reload with a new QR code every single time I tried.

At this point I thought it was a Minecraft/PS5 issue. I then went to the Safari browser on my phone to see if I could find an issue with the account and was able to log in to the Minecraft website with my Microsoft account but found no issues there. I then signed in on a Safari to my Microsoft account dashboard and emails, again with no issue. After that I tried to sign into the official xbox website and it would not let me sign in. It comes up saying “you signed out of your account” and “it’s a good idea to close all browser windows”. After trying multiple times I tried signing in to Xbox on Microsoft edge on my laptop. Exactly the same thing accruing. I thought I would try a fresh device that has never logged in to the Xbox website with my outlook account or any outlook account for that matter. Same problem accrued.

I created a new Microsoft account and again same issue. So at this point I’m almost certain it’s not a hardware issue because I’ve used multiple devices, surely it can’t be an internet issue because I’ve tried WiFi and my phones 5g and because of the new account attempt failing surely it can’t be an account issue either. So what on earth is it?

Of course I have tried the various obvious things I’ve found on the internet (can’t remember all of them) but they include:

using Microsoft log in helper (no issues found)

“Log out everywhere” using my laptop

changing Password

restarting the wifi

using my phones mobile data

using incognito window on Safari

using inprivate browser on Edge

talking to the Microsoft ai chat bot (it wouldn’t let me talk to a human)

Using a VPN

Really hope somebody can help me

Based on your testing across multiple browsers, devices, networks, and even a newly created Microsoft account, this does not appear to be a PS5, browser, network, or account-specific issue. Similar reports have been associated with Xbox web authentication/sign-in loops where Microsoft account services work normally, but Xbox.com repeatedly fails to complete sign-in.

You could double-check that your Microsoft account region and Xbox region match, and verify there are no Xbox service issues.

If the problem persists, you'll likely need to contact Xbox Support, as community members cannot access Xbox authentication logs or account backend systems.

Hi @Alex-L

I very much appreciate your response. I have already tried multiple times to speak to a human through the ai chat you have linked me. However, it won’t connect me to a human because it’s a sign in issue which it will only offer advice for but says that customers with sign in issues must sort the problem their selves.

Where do I go from here? I am losing hope fast.

I understand your frustration. Since you've already tested multiple devices, browsers, networks, and even a different Microsoft account, this no longer appears to be a simple client-side issue. Unfortunately, if Xbox Support's automated flow will not route your case to a live agent, there is very little the community can do because we have no access to account or authentication logs. At this point, I would recommend posting the issue in the official Xbox Support Community as well, as other users may be able to confirm whether they are experiencing the same sign-in behavior. If this is a backend authentication issue, only Microsoft can investigate it. Please don't assume you've done anything wrong; based on your testing, the problem may be outside your control.

Would you mind kindly linking the official Xbox support community? The web page I found https://support.xbox.com/en-US/index.html says “The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.” Appreciate your time on this.
