    Hi, good day!

To help narrow down the cause

When you click Microsoft Edge, does it appear on the taskbar but not show on the desktop screen?

Have you already tried the AI-suggested troubleshooting steps?

Do you have a secondary monitor connected? If so, please try disconnecting it and see if the issue persists.

If this doesn't work, open Microsoft Edge then Press and Hold the Shift key on your keyboard. Right click the affected application on the taskbar. Select Move then use the left and right arrows on your keyboard to move to the center.

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comment" below.

Try these steps in order. After each step, start Edge again and check whether it opens.

    1. End any stuck Edge processes.
      • Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager.
      • End every msedge.exe task.
      • Start Edge again.
    2. Restart the PC.
      • A running process can block Edge from opening.
    3. Start Edge with a temporary profile.
      • Open Command Prompt and run:
         "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --user-data-dir="%TEMP%\edge-test-profile"

      • If Edge opens with this test profile, the original profile is likely corrupted.
    4. Create a new Edge profile if the temporary profile works.
      • Close all Edge windows.
      • Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data.
      • Rename the Default folder to Default.old.
      • Start Edge to create a fresh Default profile.
      • If Edge is stable, close it and copy needed data such as Bookmarks from Default.old to the new profile.
      • Note: renaming the profile folder resets that profile’s local browser state until data is copied back.
    5. Repair Microsoft Edge.
      • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      • Select Microsoft Edge > Modify > Repair.
      • Keep the device connected to the internet during repair.
      • Browser data and settings should not be affected.
      • If Modify is unavailable, Edge is likely managed by the organization and the system administrator must handle the repair.
    6. Scan the device for malware and check third-party security software.
      • Run a manual scan with Windows Security.
      • If third-party security software is installed, update it and test again.
    7. If Edge still does not open, reinstall Edge from a working browser, then restart the PC.
