A family of Microsoft presentation graphics products that offer tools for creating presentations and adding graphic effects like multimedia objects and special effects with text.
Hello Kathyrn Rodriguez,
I understand that PowerPoint on your iPad no longer responds when you press and hold a slide thumbnail, so you cannot drag it to another position. Since the usual gesture has stopped working, this may be an app or touch-response issue rather than a problem with the presentation itself.
Please try the options below and check whether the issue continues:
- Open a new blank presentation and try moving a slide there. This helps determine whether the problem affects PowerPoint generally or only that file.
- Close PowerPoint completely from the iPad app switcher, restart the iPad, and test again.
- Check the App Store for a PowerPoint update and install any available iPadOS update.
- If the issue continues, remove and reinstall PowerPoint. First confirm that your presentations are saved to OneDrive or another safe location.
- As a temporary workaround, open the presentation in PowerPoint for the web or on another device and rearrange the slides there.
If the gesture remains unavailable after reinstalling, please send feedback from PowerPoint profile picture > Help & Feedback and include the iPad model, iPadOS version, PowerPoint version, and a short screen recording. This sends the report directly to the relevant PowerPoint product team so they can investigate the issue further.
