Cloud saves/retrieve lost game progress on Xbox One

WTH? So, Ghost Recon Wildlands had a major update. Now, all progress from prior games...poof. Gone! Not really happy. Any suggestions? Not very familiar with Xbox and it's nuts and bolts. Maybe step by step on prompting cloud storage? Or perhaps outsmarting the console itself to obtain prior game progress? Anything would help. Thanks in advance.
