Microsoft Learn: How can I change my personal login account email without losing my certifications and learning history?

Hello Microsoft Learn Support,

I currently have a Microsoft Learn profile associated with my personal Microsoft account.

I would like to change the personal email/login account associated with my existing Microsoft Learn profile to another personal Microsoft account.

I want to make sure that my existing Microsoft Learn data is retained, including:

  • Microsoft certifications
  • Exam history
  • Learning progress
  • XP, badges, and trophies
  • Transcript
  • Applied Skills and other credentials

Currently, under Microsoft Learn > Settings > Login account management, I can see my existing personal account under "You're signed in as".

Is there an officially supported way to replace my current personal Microsoft login account with another personal Microsoft account while keeping the same Learn profile and all associated certifications and learning history?

I would appreciate the recommended step-by-step procedure to safely make this change.

Thank you.

Learn profiles are self-managed. Although Learn profiles can be merged, you cannot merge two Learn profiles with personal email accounts. The workaround is to use a work account as a bridge:

    1. Sign into Learn with your old personal email account
    2. Link a work email account to your old Learn profile https://learn.microsoft.com/training/support/learn-profile-manage#add-login-accounts-to-your-learn-profile
    3. Sign into Learn with the work email account
    4. Remove the old personal email account from the Learn profile
    5. Link (and merge) your new personal email account to your Learn profile https://learn.microsoft.com/training/support/faq?pivots=profile#can-i-merge-two-profiles-of-mine-into-one
    6. Optionally, sign into Learn with the new personal email account and remove the work email account
