Need help to restore it urgently because it's an important record.

    Dear @Marvela,

Based on your description, this typically indicates that the Teams recording service was unable to successfully capture the meeting media, rather than a failure that occurred when saving the recording to OneDrive or SharePoint.

Here are some recommend checks you can try:

1/Check the Recordings folder in OneDrive

    • Navigate to OneDrive > Recordings.
    • Search for any recently created .mp4 files around the meeting time.

    2/Check SharePoint (for channel meetings)

If the meeting was held in a Teams channel, recordings are stored in the associated SharePoint site's Documents > Recordings folder.

    3/Review the meeting chat

    • Open the meeting chat and select the recording card.
    • In some cases, processing completes later and the recording becomes available after an initial error.

4/Verify whether another organizer started the recording

    • If another organizer or co-organizer initiated the recording, the file may have been saved to their OneDrive or the team's SharePoint location instead.

If you have all the methods above but still cannnot resolve the issue. Since the error specifically reports that no audio, video, or screen sharing was captured, there may not be a valid recording file available for Teams to process or store. If no MP4 file exists in OneDrive, SharePoint, or another organizer's account, recovery may unfortunately not be possible.

You also can try to reach out to your IT/admin of your organization, they can further investigate by reviewing:

    • Teams Admin Center
    • Microsoft 365 Service Health
    • Microsoft 365 Unified Audit Log

These logs can help determine whether a recording file was ever successfully created.

Once again, I sincerely empathize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. However, as this is a public community forum, I do not have access to backend systems or the tools required to perform further investigation.

I hope your issue would be resolved as soon as possible, feel free to each out if you have any other questions.

If the recording shows failed to store, the recovery path depends on whether Teams saved it to temporary storage.

    1. Check the meeting chat for the recording message.
      • If the chat message says the recording failed to upload to OneDrive, the file is stored temporarily for 21 days.
      • In that case, use the option in chat to retry uploading it to OneDrive or download it to the local device.
    2. Check the normal storage location.
      • For a non-channel meeting, look in the organizer’s OneDrive for Business under My files > Recordings.
      • For a channel meeting, look in the channel Files > Recordings, or open it in SharePoint.
    3. Check whether the recording was deleted, moved, or expired.
      • Look in the relevant Recycle Bin.
      • For OneDrive recordings, also check the second-stage recycle bin.
    4. If the upload failed because of storage or account issues:
      • A recording can fail to upload to OneDrive if the organizer, co-organizers, or recording initiator don’t have OneDrive accounts, or if the storage quota is full.
      • When that happens, Teams saves it to async media storage temporarily and does not retry the upload automatically.
      • The organizer must download the recording and can try uploading again after storage space is cleared or the required OneDrive/SharePoint access is available.
    5. If the chat message says the recording was permanently deleted from temporary storage, it can’t be recovered.
    6. If the recording link is missing in chat, manually locate it:
      • Non-channel meeting: My files > Recordings in OneDrive.
      • Channel meeting: Files > Recordings > Open in SharePoint.
    7. If the recording still can’t be found, an administrator can run the Teams meeting recording diagnostic in the Microsoft 365 admin center to confirm whether the recording finished successfully and uploaded to OneDrive or SharePoint.

Urgent note: if the file is in temporary storage, it must be downloaded or re-uploaded within 21 days or it will be deleted.
