Find a recording that expired

I need help recovering two expired Microsoft Teams meeting recordings from my personal Microsoft 365 account.

I was the meeting organizer. Meeting: [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed] Date: 3 August 2026 Recording 1: 08:10–10:54 Recording 2: 11:35–12:13

Both recording cards are still visible in the Teams meeting chat but show “This recording has expired.”

I have checked my OneDrive Recycle Bin and the recordings are not there. I have also searched my PC for MP4 files and they were not downloaded locally.

Could you please check whether these recordings can still be recovered from the Microsoft cloud/backend?

Microsoft Teams Free meeting recordings are saved in the meeting chat and remain available for 30 days. To keep a recording beyond that period, it must be downloaded before the expiration date.

Once the 30-day period has passed and the recording displays “This recording has expired,” it is no longer available through the meeting chat.

Please also note that this is a user-to-user forum. Community members do not have access to Microsoft accounts, Teams cloud storage, or Microsoft’s backend systems, so I’m unable to check whether the recordings still exist or recover them on your behalf.

    Meetings recorded with Teams Personal account are stored on the Cloud only. They remain available for download from the Cloud for 30 days, and after that period has passed, the recording file is permanently deleted and can no longer be recovered.

    If the recording card in Teams shows “This recording has expired” and the files are not in the OneDrive Recycle Bin, there is no supported self-service recovery path from Teams or OneDrive.
