A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
This usually means the account is temporarily blocked after too many failed sign-in attempts, even if the password is now correct.
Try this:
- Stop trying to sign in for 24–48 hours. Repeated attempts can extend the lockout.
- After the wait, try signing in again in the OneDrive app.
- If the OneDrive app shows a gray icon with a line through it or says it is not connected, open the app and enter the email address and password again at the Set up OneDrive screen.
- If the problem continues, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper to check for account issues.
- If sign-in works but OneDrive still will not connect, test on a different network or mobile hotspot. A firewall, VPN, or internet provider can block access to OneDrive.
- Make sure the OneDrive app is up to date.
Important checks:
- If this is a personal Microsoft account, the sign-in helper is the recommended next step.
- If this is a work or school account, try resetting the password again only if needed, or contact the organization’s IT admin.
- If more than one Microsoft account exists, make sure the correct account is being used.
