Thanks for everybody chiming right in.
Have solved the problem, best I can tell, with the help of ChatGTP. Spent about 4 useless hours with Copilot, thinking it is a MICROSOFT problem; Copilot should be most helpful. Was an entire waste of time.
Swapped routers, printers offline
Switched routers (Netgear Nighthawk) and am having printer problems. Printers are hardwired and basically nothing changed except the router; all network connections are the same.
Software: Windows 11 (26200.9728); all drivers up-to-date
Hardware:
ASUS Vivobook 14 Flip
Canon ImageCLASS MF465dw laser printer
Epson Ink Jet
Fiber > Router > downstairs 5 place switch > Wire in wall > Upstairs switch > Printers
Reset Canon printer.

I have these ports active on my computer. Tried to delete the TCP/IP ports and they would not delete (in use).
I thot deleting them might let me start over.
Spent 3 hours on-line with COPILOT without success, troubleshooting. After all Copilot troubleshooting, both printers IP are set to 0.0.0.0. Copilot generated this:
Summary of the problem: The printer’s IPv4 address remains 0.0.0.0 under all conditions. It never obtains an IP address from DHCP.
Troubleshooting already completed:
· Set IPv4 to Auto Acquire / DHCP = SET
· Performed Initialize Network Settings
· Power‑cycled the printer after reset
· Verified the Ethernet cable and router LAN port using other devices (they obtain DHCP normally)
· Connected the printer directly to the router’s LAN port with a known‑good cable
· Bypassed all switches, patch panels, and intermediate wiring
· Rebooted router and printer multiple times
· Confirmed link lights are active on both the router and printer
· Confirmed no MAC filtering or isolation on the router
· Verified the printer is not set to manual IP mode
Result: Even when connected directly to the router, the printer still shows:
· IP Address: 0.0.0.0
· Subnet Mask: 0.0.0.0
· Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Tried to contact Canon. Impossible.
Anyone have any suggestions that might help me get my printers back on line?
