Can only receive email bit can't send

Unable to to semd email and the drop down section not opening to select send or spam etc

If you can receive emails but cannot send, first try restarting the email app and your phone.

Also, if this is Outlook, try sending a test email from https://outlook.live.com to see if the same issue happens there.

To help narrow this down:

Which email app are you using on Android: Outlook, Gmail, or another app?
What type of email account is it: Outlook/Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, or something else?
When you tap Send, do you get any error message?
Which drop-down menu is not opening? If possible, please describe what you see or share a screenshot.

Thanks. Just to clarify, you're using the Gmail app with an Outlook/Hotmail account added to it?

Also, when you tap Send, does the message stay open, or does it move to the Outbox?

Please also try restarting your phone and checking for updates to the Gmail app.
