    Hi,

What changes did you make to your computer or subscription before the issue started?

Instead of Quick Repair, I suggest trying an Online Repair to thoroughly repair any issues with the Office installation:

In the search bar, type Control Panel > Programs and Features > find Microsoft 365/Office > right-click it > select Change > then run Online Repair.

If the issue persists, you can use the Office Uninstall Support Tool (Uninstall Troubleshooter) to completely remove Microsoft Office from your device and then reinstall it:

    https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC

Once you open the link, click Get Help. When the tool launches, select Yes, then click Next. Choose the option to uninstall Microsoft 365 and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

    To reinstall Office:

    Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your Office license.

Locate Microsoft Office and click Install.

Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once installed, open an Office app such as Word or Excel and sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your purchase to activate Office.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Update Office
      • Open any Office app if possible.
      • Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
      • If Update Now is not shown, select Enable Updates first.
    2. Repair Office
      • In Windows 10: right-click Start > Apps and Features.
      • In Windows 11: right-click Start > Installed apps.
      • Select Microsoft 365 or Office > Modify.
      • If available, choose Online Repair > Repair. This is more complete than Quick Repair.
      • Follow the on-screen steps, then restart the PC.
    3. Test in Safe Mode
      • Select Search, type Run, and open Run.
      • Try these commands one at a time:
        • winword /safe
        • excel /safe
        • powerpnt /safe
      • Make sure there is a space before /safe.
      • If the app opens in Safe Mode, the issue is likely caused by an add-in.
    4. Disable add-ins if Safe Mode works
      • In the Office app opened in Safe Mode, go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
      • In the Manage list, select the app’s add-ins or COM Add-ins, then select Go.
      • Clear one add-in, select OK, then restart the app normally.
      • Repeat until the problem add-in is found.
    5. If files open in the wrong app or do not open by double-clicking
      • Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
      • Select the Office product > Change > Quick Repair.
      • If needed, manually set the correct default app in Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs.
    6. If a specific document is damaged
      • Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
      • Go to File > Open > Browse.
      • Select the file, choose the arrow next to Open, then select Open and Repair.

If Word, Excel, and PowerPoint all fail to open, Online Repair is the best next step.
