Unable to extend existing Microsoft 365 Business Standard subscription with renewal ESD key

Hello,

Our organization previously used and redeemed a 1-year Retail ESD product key for Microsoft 365 Business Standard on this tenant. We have purchased a new renewal Retail ESD key (quantity: 5, 1 year, Eurozone) to extend the subscription.

  • Product: MS ESD Microsoft 365 Business Standard Retail AllLngSub PKLic 1YROnline Eurozone C2R NR

Issue: When attempting to apply the key to extend our existing subscription, we receive the error:

"The product key is valid but your organization is not eligible for this offer. (CV:[Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed])"

Maybe somebody could say where is the problem and how to fix it? Trying to activate via signup.microsoft.com/get-started/setupKey

Thank you

    Hi Arturas,

Based on the error message, the product key itself appears to be valid. However, the tenant is not eligible for the specific offer associated with that key.

As a fellow forum member, I do not have access to tenant-specific licensing, redemption, or backend diagnostic information, so unfortunately I cannot determine which eligibility requirement is causing the redemption to fail.

For this reason, I recommend that you contact your IT administrator to open a support request with Microsoft. A technical support engineer can investigate the issue using internal tools and backend information that are not available to forum members, identify the cause of the eligibility check failure, and advise on the appropriate resolution.

In case you do not know who your IT admin is, kindly refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

If the subscription or renewal key was purchased through a Microsoft partner or reseller, they may also be able to verify that the correct SKU was supplied and assist with escalating the matter to Microsoft.

I hope everything gets sorted out soon. If you have any further questions or updates, feel free to share.
