one day i can cast from Edge on my surface laptop and the next when i go to cast to device there are no devices found.?

I have been able to cast to my nvidia shield, sony tv and now all of a sudden I do not see those devices when going into edge, more tools, cast to device. no devices are showing, but they were last week.

Since all of the casting devices disappeared at the same time, this points more to Edge or network discovery than to the TV or Shield itself.

Try these first:

Make sure the Surface, NVIDIA Shield, and Sony TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Restart the Surface, router, Shield, and TV.
In Edge, open edge://settings/help and install any available update, then restart Edge.
If you use a VPN or third-party firewall/security app, temporarily disable it and test again.

Edge has Google Cast enabled by default, so the devices should normally appear unless discovery is being blocked or a policy changed.

If the issue still persists, to help narrow down the issue:

Can your phone still cast to the NVIDIA Shield or Sony TV?
If you install or open Chrome on the Surface, does Chrome see the devices?
Did this start after an Edge update, Windows update, router change, or security/VPN change?
