Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi @Lorelei Kolegue,
You're absolutely right not to post the tenant ID, organization name, or other account-specific information publicly. Those details could be considered sensitive, and this is a public user-to-user community forum.
As fellow community members, neither I nor the other users here have access to internal systems, so unfortunately we can't make changes to subscriptions, billing settings, renewals, or cancellations on your behalf. However, I'd still like to help as much as I can within the scope of this community by pointing you toward the most appropriate next steps and support channels for your situation.
Based on your description, it is quite possible that the Microsoft 365 Apps for business subscription was originally purchased and billed through GoDaddy, even though the service itself runs on a Microsoft 365 tenant.
If that's the case, your first priority should be to work with GoDaddy Support. When a Microsoft 365 subscription is sold through a partner, the partner typically manages the billing relationship and is responsible for renewal, cancellation, and account access issues related to that purchase. Subscriptions purchased through a third party generally need to be managed and canceled through the organization that sold the subscription, rather than directly through Microsoft.
If you still have access to the GoDaddy credentials associated with the purchase, try signing in to your GoDaddy account using the account username/customer number and password used when the subscription was originally purchased. From there, you can check the subscription settings and follow GoDaddy's documented steps for turning off auto-renew.
If your goal is to terminate the service completely, GoDaddy also provides options to delete products from an account. However, I would strongly recommend backing up any important data first, as cancellation or deletion may affect access to data and services, and recovery may not always be possible afterward.
If you do not know which GoDaddy account holds the subscription, or if you can no longer access that account, I would suggest contacting GoDaddy Customer Support (GoDaddy Guides) and asking them to:
- Identify the GoDaddy account associated with the Microsoft 365 subscription.
- Help restore access to that account. Disable auto-renewal or cancel the Microsoft 365 Apps for business subscription.
I found the following support page, which may help you reach their team: GoDaddy Help Center - Contact Us
(If you use the chat option, I recommend clearly stating that you'd like assistance from a live agent. This can sometimes help the AI route your request to a support representative more effectively)
