Did you previously have the LTSC version of Office installed on your PC?

If you completely uninstalled Office, then downloaded Office from your Microsoft account online, open Word.

    Go to File - Account.

Click the 'Switch Licence' button, do you find your Microsoft 365 subscription listed there to switch to that version of Office.

    Dear @ishaku ziyok,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum!

Based on your description, I understand that you're trying to install Microsoft 365, but the installation repeatedly results in the Office LTSC version instead. You're looking for guidance on how to install the correct Microsoft 365 edition.

To better understand the situation, could you please provide the following information:

    • Which Microsoft 365 license is assigned to your account (Microsoft 365 Apps for Business, Apps for Enterprise, etc.)?
    • Are you installing Office from the Microsoft 365 portal, the Office Deployment Tool (ODT), or another source?
    • Is this a personal device or a device managed by your organization?
    • Do you currently have any Office or Office LTSC versions installed on the device?

Your confirmation would be very helpful in ensuring you receive the most suitable support!

If you’re able to share a bit more about your situation, I might be able to suggest some helpful next steps.

This usually happens when an existing Office LTSC or another Office installation is still present, or when the wrong installer/license is being applied.

    Try this in order:

    1. Remove existing Office installations Use the Microsoft uninstall troubleshooter to remove Microsoft 365, Office 2021, Office 2019, or Office 2016 from the PC, then restart the device.
    2. Install Microsoft 365 again from the correct account After restart, sign in with the account associated with the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Install.
    3. Check whether the subscription actually includes desktop apps If the subscription is Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Office 365 Enterprise E1, Office 365 A1, Project Online Essentials, or Visio Online Plan 1, there are no desktop Office apps to install. Those plans provide web apps instead.
    4. If the PC shows account or license mismatch symptoms If Office was previously linked to a different Office plan, Office can show Account Notice or Unlicensed product messages. In that case, uninstall the old version and reinstall the version that comes with the current Microsoft 365 plan.
    5. If installation still fails or behaves unexpectedly
      • Restart the device and try the install again.
      • Use the offline installer, which can help bypass proxy, firewall, antivirus, or Internet connection issues.
    6. If Microsoft 365 features are missing after install If there was previously a non-genuine Office or Microsoft 365 installation, subscription features such as Dictate, Designer, and Editor may not appear until that issue is resolved.

If the goal is specifically to stop Office LTSC from remaining on the device, the key step is to fully remove the existing Office installation first, then reinstall Microsoft 365 using the subscription account that includes the desktop apps.
