If you are referring to the tags that list the track titles, artist, album... etc. automatically when you rip a CD in Windows Media Player, that functionality has been broken in the two media players in Windows for a long time, Windows gets that information from the MusicMatch servers and the connection to those servers is not working for quite a while now.
Windows Media Player (WMP) Live Captions

I take it that Live Captions refers to the titles of the tracks on a CD played by WMP? Further, I think that for Live Captions to work, the CD must have some encoding that describes each track? If that is the case, is there some data on the CD label or on the CD case that indicates whether the CD has the required encoding?
Thanks for your help.
