How do I remove DDOS Guard?

DDOS Guard appears to be a third party add on that pretends to be antivirus; it pops up when clicking known-good links in emails e.g from a hotel chain, claims there has been suspicious activity from my computer, and wants me to confirm I am not a robot but then is blocked by Norton as it tries to open what Norton see as a malicious site. Blocking the site extension did not work, it appears to generate a random prefix that changes each time it runs; how do I uninstall DDOS Guard a.k.a ByteBridge when it has no obvious folder on the C drive?

    If nothing suspicious appears under Installed apps and SiteBlock is preventing the redirects, that is a good sign.

    I would still recommend running a Microsoft Defender Full scan and checking your browser extensions and notification permissions for anything unfamiliar.

    If the redirects stop completely after that, you can continue monitoring for now.
