Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
For a Microsoft personal Outlook account, the fastest supported path is the Microsoft sign-in helper. It checks the email address or phone number used for sign-in and tells what action is required:
Important: Microsoft support agents cannot send password reset links or directly change account details.
If the issue is in the Outlook mobile app specifically:
- Use the sign-in helper first.
- Make sure the Outlook mobile app is updated to the latest version.
- If the problem started after changing the primary alias on an Outlook.com account, delete and re-add the account in the app:
- Open Settings
- Select the affected account
- Select Delete Account
- Re-add the account
- If that still fails in Outlook mobile, go to Settings > Help & Feedback > Contact Support.
If self-help does not resolve it, use Microsoft support entry points:
For Outlook.com support pages, if self-help does not solve the problem, select Help on the menu bar, enter the issue, then scroll to Still need help? and select Yes. If sign-in is not possible, use the sign-in help path provided there.
