How do i fix this green screen of death?

A green screen that never reaches the Home screen usually means the Xbox is stuck while loading its system software. On an older console, corrupted system files or a failing internal hard drive may cause this.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Hold the Xbox power button for about 10 seconds until it shuts down. Unplug the power cable for 30 seconds, reconnect it, and turn the console back on.

If it still hangs, open the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Turn the console off, then hold the Pair and Eject buttons while pressing the Xbox power button. Keep holding Pair and Eject until you hear the second startup tone. For an all-digital model, hold only the Pair button.

Select Reset this Xbox, then choose Keep games and apps. This reinstalls the operating system without removing installed games. See the Xbox startup troubleshooting steps.

If the troubleshooter does not appear, or the reset and offline update fail, the internal hard drive may be failing. Since the console is around 10 years old, repair or replacement may be the practical next step.
