Android One Note personal accounts. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, signed out, signed back in and still dealing with the same attached error message that states "Something went wrong" [9hehw]

Hello Nancy H,

I understand that OneNote for Android continues to show the “Something went wrong [9hehw]” error with your personal account, even after you uninstalled and reinstalled the app and signed out and back in.

This does not appear to be an isolated issue, as many users have recently reported the same issue.

Similar reports:

For now, I suggest using OneNote for the web as a temporary workaround. Please also submit feedback through Microsoft Feedback Portal. You can vote for an existing report describing the same issue or submit a new one and include the error tag 9hehw, a screenshot, the app version, and the Android version. This can be directed to the relevant product team for investigation.

Since this is a user-to-user support forum, moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, cannot directly access Microsoft’s back-end systems or intervene in product development. Our role is limited to sharing technical guidance based on the available information and experience.

Finally, keep OneNote updated through the Google Play Store so you receive any fixes or improvements that become available.

Thank you for the response, I already figured put theory around, hoping and praying Microsoft fixes the problems they've created sooner rather than later 😉🙏

Hi Nancy H,

The issue has reached the OneNote product team. The root cause has been identified, and a backend fix is currently being rolled out. Because the rollout may take some time, it could take up to a day for the fix to reach everyone. Please do not uninstall or reset OneNote. You will simply need to restart the app.

Thank you for the information. However, yesterday another moderator helped me fix the issue without uninstalling: turned off VPN, clear app cache, used mobile data not wifi, signed out of OneNote then back in and the signin requirement disappeared, plus my tiles returned!!!!! 😉
