    Hi Rob,

Regarding your concern, this is most likely a macOS compatibility issue, rather than a problem with your Microsoft 365 business account. Microsoft’s current OneDrive system requirements specify macOS 14.4 or later. Since your Mac is running macOS Ventura 13.7.8, it's expected behavior that a newly installed current version of OneDrive can be installed but then fail to open.

In this case, I suggest you consider upgrading your macOS to macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later via Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update, then download and reinstall OneDrive from Microsoft’s official download page.

If your Mac cannot be upgraded, the only supported option is to access your business OneDrive through OneDrive on the web.

On macOS Ventura 13.7.8, the current OneDrive version may fail to install or open. A supported path from the available guidance is:

    1. Remove the current OneDrive app from Applications by dragging OneDrive.app to the Trash.
    2. Reinstall OneDrive for Mac using the Microsoft installer.
    3. Open the downloaded file and complete setup.

If the issue is specifically caused by having multiple OneDrive versions installed, check for that first:

    1. Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal.
    2. Run:
         /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c 'Print CFBundleIdentifier' /Applications/OneDrive.app/Contents/Info.plist

      • com.microsoft.OneDrive = Standalone version
      • com.microsoft.OneDrive-mac = Store version
    3. If two versions are installed, Microsoft does not support running the standalone and App Store versions side by side.
    4. Remove the previous installation by opening the app bundle and running Contents/resources/reset*.command.
    5. Then install the latest OneDrive for macOS from the preferred source.

If OneDrive shows "You’re signed in to 2 versions", use this fix:

    1. Click the OneDrive cloud icon in the menu bar.
    2. Select Show in Finder from the message.
    3. In /Library/CloudStorage, open each OneDrive folder.
    4. If one folder shows a banner with Delete, select Delete for that old folder.
    5. If no folder shows that banner, open OneDrive preferences > Account > Unlink this Mac.
    6. Run OneDrive again and complete setup.

Important: uninstalling or reinstalling OneDrive does not delete OneDrive data, but sync settings are reset and a full sync will run again.
