Hello @Brooke Russell
Unfortunately, Microsoft is retiring Publisher in October 2026. Microsoft 365 Publisher will no longer be available after October 1, 2026.
Perpetual versions are different: Publisher 2021 can still be installed and used after retirement, but Microsoft support and security updates end in October 2026. There isn't a newer perpetual replacement for Publisher 2024. Publisher 2021 is Microsoft's last classic version.
If you already own a legitimate perpetual Publisher 2021 license, you can continue using it, with the security/support implications in mind. Be cautious about inexpensive third-party “lifetime Publisher” keys advertised online.
Going forward, Microsoft recommends Word or PowerPoint for many Publisher scenarios, such as cards, labels, calendars, business cards, and programs. I'd also recommend converting important .pub files to PDF or another usable format before retirement, particularly if you're currently using the Microsoft 365 version.
