Dear Microsoft Certification Support,

I am writing to kindly request a one-time extension for my Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification, Certification ID CBB03D-CF3778, which expired on August 26, 2026.

Unfortunately, I faced a personal emergency during the renewal period and was unable to complete the renewal assessment. I mistakenly believed the deadline was August 31, 2026, and only discovered today that the certification had expired several days earlier.

I have invested significant time and effort in maintaining my Azure certifications and am currently preparing for AZ-104. Losing AZ-204 at this stage would have a considerable impact on my professional development.

I sincerely apologize for missing the deadline and respectfully request if an exception can be made to allow me one final attempt to renew my certification.

Thank you very much for your understanding and consideration.

Sincerely,

Ganesh Ghuge

Hi,

Unfortunately Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification retired on July 31, 2026, so it can no longer be renewed. The new replacement certification is Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate (AI-200). You will need to pass AI-200 exam in order to earn it.

Below article discusses many of certification changes, including Azure Developer Associate retiring:
