A family of Microsoft products that enable users to capture, organize, and reuse notes electronically.
This usually happens when the notebook was created from Microsoft Teams. In that case, the notebook will not appear in the Class Notebook Wizard list for Add/Remove Students, and membership cannot be managed there.
Use the roster source that created the notebook:
- If the notebook was created in Teams, add or remove students from the class team membership in Microsoft Teams.
- If the notebook was created as a standalone notebook from microsoft365.com or aka.ms/classnotebook, manage students in the Class Notebook Wizard.
- If the notebook was created through Microsoft 365 LTI, update the LMS course roster.
If newly added students still do not appear in the notebook after updating membership:
- Open Microsoft Teams.
- Go to the Class team where the notebook is located.
- Select Class Notebook.
This triggers provisioning so new members are seen in the notebook.
If the notebook is a standalone Class Notebook and students are missing, add them again:
- Sign in to microsoft365.com with the school account.
- Select Class Notebook > Add or remove students.
- Select the notebook.
- Enter the student's name, school email address, or group name.
- Select Update.
After students are added, their personal section usually appears within 5 minutes the next time the Class Notebook tab is opened. If it has been more than 15 minutes, reopen the Class Notebook tab in Teams to trigger provisioning.
