Hi Don Weavers,
In addition to the AI Answer’s suggestions, I recommend checking the Dexcom Uploader itself, as it may be installed but not running correctly or may not be detected by Dexcom Clarity.
First, check the notification area near the clock for the Dexcom Uploader icon. You can also press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. If Dexcom Uploader is listed, select it, choose End task and then reopen it from the Start menu.
If the issue continues, uninstall Dexcom Uploader from Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, restart the computer and reinstall the latest version directly from the official Dexcom Clarity website. Dexcom states that the uploader must be installed and running for it to work.
I also recommend checking Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Protection history to see whether the official Dexcom installer or uploader has been blocked. Only restore or allow an item after confirming that it belongs to the official Dexcom software.
You can also test the uploader from a new Windows user profile to determine whether the issue is limited to the current profile:
- Open Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.
- Select Add someone else to this PC.
- Select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information > Add a user without a Microsoft account and complete the setup.
- Sign in to the new account and test the latest official Dexcom Uploader.
This is only a diagnostic test and will not remove the existing profile or its files. If Dexcom works in the new profile, the issue is likely associated with the original profile or its app settings. If it fails in both profiles, the problem is more likely related to the Dexcom installation, security permissions or Windows. Please do not move your files or delete the original profile at this stage.
Since this is medical-device software, I would avoid registry changes, unofficial installers or downloads from third-party websites. If the latest official uploader still cannot be detected, please contact Dexcom Technical Support for product-specific assistance with the uploader and receiver.
Please also note that Windows 10 reached end of support on October 14, 2025. If the PC is eligible, I recommend moving to Windows 11 for continued support and security updates.
I hope these additional checks help identify what is preventing the uploader from being detected. Please keep me updated on how it goes.
