After rather a long and torturous chat with a new Copilot version (2.113.4), it is clear that this new update for the iPhone and iPad has a significant bug.

Here are some details and observations (summarized by Copilot);

  • Personal Microsoft account.
  • Web history still intact.
  • iPad app shows only current/new chat behavior.
  • iPhone appears to have two Copilot experiences. Identical icons. Different parameters and size in Settings.
  • One iPhone experience shows full historical chat archive. The other has only the troubleshooting chat.
  • Historical chats open and are readable.
  • Old phone chats seem to include deleted chats. And these deleted chats are not live.
  • New troubleshooting chat is not appearing alongside historical web chats in Old phone app.
  • Reinstalling the iPad app preceded the issue.

This is a significant problem. I have not deleted any instance of Copilot on my iPhone, and will not until the sync problem is addressed.

UPDATE (Aug. 31): Updated iPad ONLY to new 2.113.5 version, but results are the same as previous 2.113.4 version -- chat history still does not sync. No change to any other installation on other device or web.
