    Hi @Roxanne Bymun

If you have a valid Office Professional Academic 2010 license and do not want to use Microsoft 365, you may still be able to install Office 2010 on your new computer.

The first thing to determine is how you originally obtained Office 2010:

    • If you purchased Office Professional Academic 2010 separately and still have the 25-character product key, the license may be transferable to your new computer, subject to the license terms.
    • If Office 2010 was preinstalled on your old computer, the license is typically tied to that device and cannot be transferred to a new computer.

If you have the original product key and installation disk, you can install Office 2010 on the new computer and then attempt activation. If another version of Office is already installed on the new computer, it is recommended to uninstall it first to help avoid installation or activation conflicts.

Microsoft's Install Office 2010 article has been retired because Office 2010 is no longer supported. However, the retired article remains available as legacy documentation and provides information about the original installation process: Install Office 2010 - Microsoft Support

Please also note that Office 2010 reached end of support on October 13, 2020. As a result, it no longer receives security updates or technical support from Microsoft. While it may still install and run on newer versions of Windows, compatibility and activation cannot be guaranteed.
