New issue with OneNote on Android

Just today I started seeing this issue on my OneNote Android "Recent Pages" screen, i.e. the first screen you see by default whenever you start OneNote on Android:
... and when I click SIGN IN at the bottom right of this screen I get this:
Does anyone know how i can fix this issue? The interesting thing is that I am still able to sync my notebooks with the desktop version of OneNote. I have tried logging out of OneNote and back in again but this does not fix the issue. Thanks

I understand that OneNote for Android remains stuck in Working offline and displays the error Something went wrong [9hehw] with Access denied for the resource when you try to sign in.
This does not appear to be isolated. I have recently seen multiple users report the same issue, including posts in different languages.
Similar reports:

For now, I suggest using OneNote for the web as a temporary workaround. Please also submit feedback through Microsoft Feedback Portal. You can vote for an existing report describing the same issue or submit a new one and include the error tag 9hehw, a screenshot, the app version, and the Android version. This can be directed to the relevant product team for investigation.
