At startup my wifi icon appears then in less than a minute it turns off. I reconnect checking connect automaticly. After one or two disconnects it stays connected, w 10. I have unchecked power saving and continue to check it. I have had this issue for months. Thank you for your support, Jan

Since the power-saving setting was already unchecked and the issue still happens at startup, use this sequence:

    1. Run the Windows Network Troubleshooter
Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other Troubleshooters and run Network Adapter. Follow the prompts and check whether startup disconnects stop.
    2. Confirm the problem is only on this PC
Test the same Wi-Fi network on another device. If other devices stay connected, the issue is likely on the Windows 10 device rather than the router or modem.
    3. Restart the modem and Wi-Fi router
Restart both, then test again after Windows starts. If all devices have browsing issues, the router, modem, internet provider, or network equipment manufacturer may need to be checked.
    4. Verify the Wi-Fi adapter is present in Device Manager
Open Device Manager and expand Network adapters. If the adapter is missing or disabled, Windows can hide Wi-Fi controls.
    5. Remove and reinstall the Wi-Fi driver
In Device Manager > Network adapters, double-click the Wi-Fi adapter, open the Driver tab, select Uninstall Device, select Delete the driver software for this device, and confirm. Then restart the PC.
This can restore normal behavior when the adapter or driver is causing repeated disconnects.
    6. Install the latest Windows and device updates
If internet access is available, install the latest updates. If the issue started after an update or resume behavior changed, compare the current driver and firmware versions with the versions recommended by the device manufacturer.

For this symptom specifically, Windows troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking whether the issue started after an update or resume, and collecting these checks if the problem continues:

    • netsh wlan show drivers
    • netsh wlan show interfaces
    • Confirm the WLAN AutoConfig (WlanSvc) service is running

If Wi-Fi controls disappear entirely, that points more strongly to the adapter, driver, or WLAN AutoConfig service state than to the saved network profile.

    Hi Jay Hubb.

Please specify your computer's exact model or motherboard model, or go to Start, type msinfo in the search box, and attach a screenshot of the System Information page.

Right-click the Start button > Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, and post a screenshot.

Make sure Windows 10 is updated to the latest version.
