Yes. In Microsoft Edge, insecure-connection warnings are controlled under the browser security settings.
Try these steps:
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Select Settings and more in the upper-right corner.
- Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
- Select Security.
- Make sure Get alerts about insecure connections is turned on.
- Choose the warning level:
- Alerts you about insecure public sites (Default)
- Alerts for about insecure public and private sites
What this means:
- HTTP sites are not secure because data can be sent in plain text.
- HTTPS sites encrypt data and are the secure version.
- In Edge, a secure site shows a connection icon in the address bar. If a site has no valid certificate or has an invalid, expired, or self-signed certificate, the connection is not secure.
If pages that used to work suddenly stop loading in Edge, also try:
- Update Edge: Settings and more > Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
- Clear cached data: Settings and more > History > Open history page > Delete browsing data > choose All time > select Browsing history and Cached images and files > Clear now.
- Restart the computer and test again.
- If security software is installed, make sure it is up to date, because third-party security software can affect browsing.
Important: turning off these warnings is not recommended. If a page is marked insecure, avoid entering passwords, payment details, or other personal information on that site.
