If Word still works and the Microsoft 365 subscription is active, the supported way to restore a missing PowerPoint app is to reinstall Microsoft 365.
- First confirm the subscription is active:
- For Microsoft 365 Family or Personal, check Services & subscriptions on the Microsoft account dashboard.
- For Microsoft 365 for business, go to My Account and open Subscriptions.
- Reinstall Microsoft 365:
- If needed, completely uninstall Office first by using the uninstall troubleshooter.
- Restart the PC when prompted.
- Then reinstall Microsoft 365 using the install instructions.
- If Office was preinstalled on a new PC, activate Office first, then update Office:
- Open Word or another Office app.
- Go to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
- After Office finishes updating, missing app shortcuts can be restored.
- If the app went missing after a push-button reset of the PC, reinstall Office again. That restores missing Office apps after the reset.
