    Hello tqano,

The unfamiliar email is likely cached by the Microsoft Store, Xbox app, or Minecraft Launcher. Try this:

    1. Sign out of Microsoft Store and the Xbox app.
    2. Sign back into both using the Microsoft account that owns Minecraft.
    3. Open Minecraft Launcher.
    4. Select your username, then View all accounts > Switch Account > Sign in with a different account.
    5. Choose Use a different account and enter the correct email. A matching Q&A case uses this account-alignment process.

If the displayed email is genuinely unknown rather than an old account, stop and use the Microsoft account sign-in helper, as the account may require a security review.

This usually means the Microsoft account is asking to verify with security info or an alias that is currently attached to the account, and if the email shown is unfamiliar, the account may have been changed or there may be two Microsoft accounts using the same email address.

    Try these steps:

    1. On the verification screen, select I don’t have any of these if that option appears. That sends the sign-in flow to the account recovery form.
    2. Use the Microsoft Sign-in helper if sign-in keeps failing or the account details do not look correct.
    3. If the issue is that the same email address is tied to both a Personal account and a Work or school account, the “Which account do you want to use?” prompt can appear. To reduce that problem, change the personal Microsoft account’s primary alias in Manage how you sign in, or add a new alias and make it primary.
    4. If access to the Microsoft personal account is still possible, open account.microsoft.comYour infoSign-in preferences and review which aliases are allowed to sign in.
    5. If the unfamiliar email is attached because the account was compromised, use the recovery flow and then contact Microsoft Support through Get HelpContact Support. Support can route the case, but support agents are not allowed to send password reset links or directly change account details.

    Important:

    • Do not create a new Microsoft account with that email while trying to recover Minecraft access.
    • Minecraft ownership is tied to the Microsoft account itself, not to whichever alias is currently attached.
    • Microsoft accounts cannot be merged.
