Automatic billing

I signed up for an Azure Free Trial to learn the platform. I thought the resources would automatically stop after the trial period ended. The conversion to a paid model and subsequent charges were completely unintentional. The subscription is currently frozen due to a lack of funds. I kindly request a one-time courtesy credit or bill waiver to clear this balance and completely close out the billing loop.

Mirimo.

    Hi Mirimo Jean

Sorry you ran into this it's a common situation.
A free trial doesn't charge you by default when the $200 credit or 30 days runs out, the subscription is disabled unless pay-as-you-go was accepted

Only the Azure Billing support team can issue refunds or courtesy credits, and billing support requests are free for every Azure customer (no support plan needed).

    How to request it:

    1. Sign in to the Azure portal → Help + support → Create a support request.
    2. Issue type: Billing, select the affected subscription, problem type "Refund request" (or closest match).
    3. Explain exactly what you wrote here: free trial for learning, unintentional conversion to pay-as-you-go, resources not in use, requesting a one-time courtesy credit. A billing engineer typically responds within a business day.

To stop anything further from accruing: cancel the subscription (Cost Management + Billing → your subscription → Cancel) and delete any resource groups you no longer need. Note that a disabled subscription's data is retained for a limited time before deletion, so export anything you want to keep first.
