Turn off narrator

Try these direct ways to turn Narrator off in Windows 11:

1. Press Windows logo key + Ctrl + Enter. This shortcut toggles Narrator on and off.
2. Press Windows logo key + Ctrl + N to open Narrator settings, then turn off the toggle under Use Narrator.
3. If Narrator starts at sign-in, in Narrator settings clear:
   • Start Narrator after sign-in for me
   • Start Narrator before sign-in for everyone
4. If this is happening on the sign-in screen or in certain menus, use the Accessibility icon in the bottom-right corner and turn Narrator off there.
5. On a touch device, use Windows button + Volume up to start or stop Narrator.

If Narrator keeps coming back on, the usual cause is that one of the automatic start options is still enabled.
