Still not able to change the PIN code for Passkeys Manager

The pincode change option Microsoft suggested earlier in May is missing and trying all attempts with wrong PIN code just gave me the option: delete all your passkeys.

Please Microsoft, fix this.

For passkeys, there is no supported PIN-change flow in the passkey management pages described here. The available actions are to view, rename, or remove saved passkeys.

If the PIN tied to a passkey is no longer usable, the supported recovery is:

    1. Sign in using another available method.
    2. Create a new passkey.
    3. Remove old or invalid passkeys from the account and from the place where they were saved.

Relevant places to manage or remove passkeys:

    • Windows 11 device-bound passkeys: Settings > Accounts > Passkeys
    • Personal Microsoft account passkeys: Microsoft account Advanced Security Options
    • Work or school account passkeys: Security info at mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

Important details from the documented behavior:

    • If a device was replaced, a new passkey must be added first, then old passkeys can be removed.
    • If the passkey was stored in a synced credential manager, a new device usually does not require creating a new passkey; signing in to the credential manager is enough.
    • If the authentication method changes, such as changing the PIN or biometric method on Android, the passkey can become invalid and a new passkey must be created.
    • If Windows shows only delete/remove options for a saved device-bound passkey, that matches the documented management options.

If sign-in is blocked because the passkey is no longer valid, use one of the alternative sign-in methods offered, then remove the outdated passkey and set up a new one.

    Hello Jan-Henrik Myllyluoma,

To clarify, are you referring specifically to the Microsoft Password Manager PIN in Edge, rather than the Windows Hello PIN? Please provide your exact Edge version from edge://settings/help and, if possible, the earlier Microsoft instructions from May that showed this option.

Also, since your request concerns a missing product capability, please submit feedback in Edge:

    1. Select … > Help and feedback > Send feedback.
    2. Or press Alt + Shift + I.
    3. Include your Edge version and a screenshot.
