For an Android tablet, the Microsoft 365 subscription is used by signing in on the device with the Microsoft account that owns the subscription, or with an account that has been invited through Microsoft 365 Family sharing.
If the subscription owner wants to share it:
- Go to the Microsoft 365 sharing page and sign in: https://account.microsoft.com/services/office/sharing
- Select Share or Start sharing.
- Choose one of these options:
- Email invite / Invite via email
- Create link / Invite via link
- The invited person accepts the invitation.
- On the Android tablet, install the Microsoft 365 apps or the Microsoft Copilot app, then sign in with the invited Microsoft account.
Important details:
- Microsoft 365 Family and Microsoft 365 Premium can be shared with up to five other people in the family group.
- Microsoft 365 Basic and Microsoft 365 Personal do not support sharing.
- AI features are only available to the subscription owner and cannot be shared.
- Android tablets do not need to be added as a device in the Microsoft account device list to use Word and Excel. Access is based on signing in with the subscribed or shared account.
