TITLE FIELD: Founders Hub sign-in redirects to Azure portal with no verification form, additional credits refused as a result

DETAILS FIELD: everything below the line.

Signing in to Founders Hub redirects to the Azure portal. No dashboard, no business verification form, no application link. Microsoft support confirmed in writing on 16 August 2026 that "there is no separate application link available" on my account. On 23 August the additional credits were refused because I had not completed business verification.

That is the whole problem in two sentences: refused for not completing a step Microsoft confirms I cannot reach. The identical redirect was reported by other users in March 2026 and is still unfixed.

Details, dates and direct quotes below.

Background

Binary Bridge LLC, United States. We redeemed a $1,000 Azure startup sponsorship credit effective 19 April 2026. Unlocking the additional $4,000 requires business verification.

That verification has never been reachable on this account. Support ticket 2607110040001107 has been open since 11 July 2026.

I am posting publicly because six weeks on the ticket produced five deadline extensions, no fix, two written promises to make an exception, and then a refusal that contradicts itself inside a single sentence. A formal escalation request sent on 23 August has now gone unanswered for three working days.

The defect

Signed in as the account owner, every documented route fails the same way:

  • Azure portal home: no startup credits card, no "Verify your startup" banner or tile
  • Portal search for "Microsoft for Startups": documentation links only, no service blade
  • Cost Management to Benefits to Azure credits: the credit is visible, no verify or unlock action anywhere on the page
  • Subscription blade: left-menu searches for "verif", "startup" and "benefit" return nothing
  • Microsoft for Startups login page: renders the sign-in page, then lands on Azure portal home, no Founders Hub dashboard
  • Founders Hub URL, including the signup drawer variant: redirects to the Azure portal

Repeated in a clean incognito window with no cookies and no saved logins. Identical redirect. This is server side. There is nothing on my end left to try, and I have not been asked for anything I did not provide.

What Microsoft has stated in writing on the ticket

  • 15 July 2026: "We have engaged internal team to review that why you are not able to get the 'verify your startup' option."
  • 21 July 2026: "If the issue doesn't resolve, then will engage internal team make an exception to extend the program so that you can submit the request for additional credits."
  • 16 August 2026: "At this time, there is no separate application link available; however, we are actively engaging with our internal team to explore whether there may be an alternative path to submit a request on your behalf."
  • 23 August 2026, the refusal: "We investigated whether an exception could be made, processed through an alternative manual review path for additional credits as there is no option to verify the business entity. Unfortunately, after careful consideration, our internal team has declined the exception request. As a result, there is currently no available process that would allow us to manually update the application details or grant additional credits outside of the standard program requirements."

Why the refusal does not hold

Read the last two clauses together.

The credits are refused because they cannot be granted outside the standard program requirements. The standard program requirement is business verification. The same sentence states there is no option to verify the business entity.

I am being refused for failing to do something Microsoft confirms I was never able to do. That is not a decision. It is a circular statement, and it cannot be appealed on its own terms because it does not contain a reason.

Two earlier commitments on the same ticket were made and then not honoured: the 21 July promise to make an exception if the issue did not resolve, and the 16 August statement that an alternative path to submit on my behalf was being explored. I kept the ticket open for six weeks on the strength of those.

This is not specific to my account, and it is not new

The identical redirect loop is documented here, with several other affected users:

That thread is dated March 2026. It is now late August and the defect is still live. The official response on it was to advise submitting a support ticket from inside the portal, which is impossible for precisely the users reporting the problem, because the portal is the thing that fails. That is the same circular reasoning I have now received on my own ticket, five months later.

What this amounts to from the outside

Microsoft publicly offers $4,000 in credits to startups that complete business verification. On my account, and apparently on others, the ability to complete it was removed. The offer stayed up. Support acknowledged the fault in writing four times, extended the deadline five times (18 July, 31 July, 10 August, 16 August, 23 August), promised twice to make an exception, let the program lapse, and then refused on the basis that the step had not been completed.

A platform defect blocking a headline program benefit, reported publicly in March and still unresolved in August, is not a reasonable state of affairs for a company of Microsoft's size. Whatever the internal constraints are, the outcome visible from outside is that a startup is being penalised for a failure that Microsoft caused, acknowledged in writing, and has not fixed.

What I am asking for

  1. Route this to someone on the Microsoft for Startups program team with authority to grant an exception. Frontline support has stated in writing that it cannot override the program review process, so continuing to route this there is not a path to a resolution.
  2. Process the business verification offline. NC Articles of Organization, EIN documentation, domain ownership proof and the founder's personal LinkedIn profile have been ready since July and can be provided within minutes.
  3. Answer the billing question. I have asked five separate times on the ticket (6, 14, 17, 20 and 22 August) whether pay-as-you-go charges apply to my subscription while this defect was open, or whether any charges will be credited back. I have never received an answer of any kind.
  4. If the position is that a startup is ineligible because it did not complete a step Microsoft confirms is unavailable, state that plainly and on the record, so it can be treated as settled and I can plan accordingly.

I would have preferred to resolve this on the support ticket. That route has been exhausted.
